Two realities shape our work at The Healing Collective.

The first is the prevalence of religious trauma—the imprint of adverse religious experiences on one’s body, brain, and mind. The Global Center for Religious Research estimates that 15-20% of US adults currently experience religious trauma (roughly 38-51 million adults). Many have experienced deep wounds within religious contexts, where faith—meant to be a source of care and support—has instead become a source of pain. Acknowledging these wounds is fundamental to creating spaces where individuals can openly address and heal from their traumatic experiences.

The second reality is the healing presence of God. At the core of our work is a deep belief in the transformative power of divine healing. God is at work to heal the wounds of the world, including wounds inflicted in the name of religion. Our calling is to be a conduit for this divine healing, facilitating a journey toward wholeness and resilience for those who seek solace and restoration from the wounds of religious trauma. We also serve as a source of support for church leaders as they pursue their own healing and as they seek to cultivate trauma-informed cultures in their congregations that participate in this same healing work.

Our work takes numerous forms, ranging from one-off experiences to in-depth and longer-term opportunities, including:

  • Individual/group coaching

  • Cohorts for church/faith leaders

  • 3-day retreats

  • Virtual and in-person workshops

  • Trainings

  • Individual/group spiritual direction

We would love to work with you.

Whether you’re a church leader seeking to cultivate a trauma-informed community or an individual who has experienced religious trauma, our work is designed to come alongside you in your journey of healing—your own and that of all things. Reach out and let us know how we can partner with you.
